Happy FRIDAY!!!
I think Fridays need to be a National Holiday. All day Friday should be happy hours, happy prices, happy people! I also think that Fridays need to come with a sweet weekend recipe because, as we all know, weekend calories don’t count. And when life gives you apples…i know you probably wanted to say Apple Pie, but pretend for this time and say Apple rings.
Looking in the picture left you might say they look very much alike to onion rings, and onions rings, well . . . they are one of my very most favorite guilty pleasures. Fact Apple rings are the onion rings of the dessert world. And so this week Friday recipe is Apple Cinnamon Rings from Crumbs and tales.
Ingredients
- Batter
- 4 large apples (any variety)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 large egg
- 1 cup (250 ml) buttermilk
- 1/2 cup canola oil, for frying
- Cinnamon Sugar Coating
- 3 tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
